Karol G’s historic No. 1 debut on the Fakazakamp 200 albums chart with Mañana Será Bonito feels “monumental,” the Colombian star says.
Not solely is the album within the prime spot of the all-genre albums chart, but it surely’s Karol G’s first album to achieve No. 1 on the chart and the primary all-Spanish-language album by a feminine artist to land at No. 1.
“I really feel so very particular. Greater than happiness I really feel particular,” Karol G tells Fakazakamp, who spoke together with her because the information was reported.
“My final album did so nicely and had all these huge hits, like ‘Bichota,’ so the bar was excessive. However I didn’t wish to make music as a result of I felt strain. I wished to make the music I wished to make, and the truth that I’ve hit No. 1 with an album that’s so private is gigantic,” she says.
Mañana Será Bonito can also be the primary Latin album by a girl to achieve No. 1 on the Fakazakamp 200 since 1995. That 12 months, Selena’s posthumously-released, partially-Spanish-language album Dreaming of You topped the chart for one week.
Karol G — who considers Selena one among her idols — reacted with pleasure, noting, “I’m sharing one thing with Selena! That’s wonderful. Think about my 12 months: I met Rihanna, I recorded with Shakira and now I’ve a No. 1 on the chart like Selena did.”
Karol G and Shakira joined forces for the primary time with new single and Mañana album monitor “TQG,” which dropped on Feb. 24.
“And the way cool is it that on Worldwide Ladies’s Month I get to No. 1 and the artist earlier than me at No. 1 was SZA,” Karol G added. “And that ‘TQG’ is No. 1 [on Spotify] and all these songs by ladies are within the prime slots. We’re residing such a powerful second. Now, we’re going for extra.”
