Questlove, Carole King, Melissa Etheridge and extra stars took to social media on Thursday to pay tribute to two-time Rock and Roll Corridor of Fame inductee David Crosby, who died at 81.
The musician was a founding member of The Byrds and, later in his profession, Grammy-winning band Crosby, Stills & Nash, which finally turned Crosby, Stills, Nash & Younger.
Crosby helped Etheridge and her ex-partner Julie Cypher conceive their late son, Beckett, through sperm donation. The singer/songwriter shared her grief over the lack of her buddy. “He gave me the present of household,” Etheridge tweeted. “His music and legacy will encourage many generations to come back.”
Carole King remembered her “outdated buddy,” writing, “he left us along with his phrases, his music and his lovely voice. My deepest condolences to Jan, Django and everybody who beloved David Crosby.”
“David Crosby’s music was positively part of my life as I’m positive it was for tens of millions of parents,” Daredevil star Vincent D’Onofrio wrote. “Quite a lot of music got here from my 3 sisters rooms once I was a pre-teen & all of it was my introduction to rock & the various variations of. Crosby, Stills, Nash & Younger was ever current.”
Although Tom Petty died in 2017, his Twitter account continues to be energetic, and it tweeted, “Tom counted David Crosby as a buddy and a hero. He visited typically at his home within the valley. He was humorous, provocative and electrical with expertise. His contribution to music won’t ever be forgotten.”
