Róisín Murphy is again with a brand new track: “CooCool” was produced by DJ Koze, and it marks her first single on Ninja Tune. Under, give it a hear and take a look at the one’s paintings, which is a portrait of Murphy by artist Beth Frey.
The track, Murphy stated in a press launch, is “ostensibly a fragile little flower but it has nice hidden power on the roots.” She continued, “There’s traditional virtuosity and a lightness of contact, whereas DJ Koze’s hyper-modern manufacturing makes it bounce and glide. It’s a stupidly romantic little love poem. ‘This factor is means past any type of parody.’ All the pieces on this track is true and playful. Can we fall in love and retain our sense of humour? ‘Embrace your internal little one!’ Timeless, ageless, unavoidable love.”
Murphy’s final album was 2020’s Róisín Machine, which acquired a remix album in 2021 known as Crooked Machine. Learn Pitchfork’s characteristic “Róisín Murphy on the Music That Made Her.”
