The Blessed Madonna has teamed up with Spotify UK and Eire on the EQUAL playlist to have fun Worldwide Girls’s Day (08.03.23).
The worldwide DJ has chosen tracks by feminine artists, together with The XX’s Romy Madley Croft, Eliza Rose, in addition to rising artists Nia Archives and Laurie Anderson, and highlighted how important it’s to “spend money on girls’s music” within the male-dominated business.
The Spotify EQUAL program ambassador commented: “Put money into girls. That’s the message. Put money into girls’s music. Put money into girls’s use of expertise. That is what I need to see. Girls have been working in music since we banged sticks on rocks. So recognising and supporting them in music now isn’t one thing new, it’s a remembering and cost into the long run which can see many extra Laurie Andersons if we’re all fortunate!!!”
The streaming big is engaged on a worldwide marketing campaign to “champion feminine creators”.
The Blessed Madonna joins the likes of Alicia Keys, Janelle Monáe and Pitty in creating an EQUAL playlist.
Spotify has additionally teamed up with activists similar to MeToo founder Tarana Burke to share “Behind the Motion” tales on social media.
The corporate may also contribute to UN Girls and Calling All Crows within the title of gender equality.
